Teaching Experience: Dr. Demetrius is a Defense and Security Consultant and an Adjunct Professor in Cyberspace Operations. Coming from a US and military background he tends to split his time between his duties in the Academia and the Defense Sector. When no EU nation was engaged in this work, he was already a prolific author on Cyberwarfare and among the top three experts in Europe. He has always been ahead of the bow wave in cyber law, international law, security issues, and maritime matters and this is why in 1999, a world authority, such as Professor John Norton Moore, asked him to teach at his prestigious Ocean Law and Policy Institute in the University of Virginia and the US Naval Academy. Despite a certain preoccupation with research and writing he enjoys teaching not only with regard to the more niche subjects he is involved in but also with regard to the usual “bread and butter modules. With a heavily practical background, he is a qualified legal counsel in both the EU and the US, and he likes to employ the “Socratic Method” as a means of getting his students used to applying theoretical concepts to real life situations. He also loves research and writing supervision.
